Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At Reboot Node Station, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we handle your personal information when you use our budgeting tools and services.

We're based in Thailand and follow local data protection regulations. But more than that, we believe in being straightforward about what data we collect and why we need it.

What Information We Collect

Information You Give Us Directly

When you create an account or use our budgeting platform, you share certain details with us. This includes your name, email address, and phone number. If you're connecting bank accounts or payment methods, we'll also receive that financial connection data.

  • Account registration details (name, email, password)
  • Contact information for support requests
  • Budget categories and spending information you enter
  • Payment information when subscribing to premium features
  • Communication preferences and settings

Information We Collect Automatically

Like most websites, we gather some technical data automatically. This helps us understand how people use our platform and where we can make improvements. We're talking about things like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you visit.

Data Type Purpose Retention Period
Device Information Service optimization 90 days
Usage Patterns Feature improvement 12 months
Login Activity Security monitoring 6 months
Error Reports Technical support 30 days

How We Use Your Data

Your information serves specific purposes. We're not collecting data just for the sake of it. Here's what we actually do with it.

Core Service Delivery: We need your account information to provide budgeting tools, sync your data across devices, and send you important notifications about your spending patterns.

Beyond the basics, we use aggregated data to spot trends and improve our platform. For example, if many users struggle with a particular feature, that tells us we need to redesign it. We also use your data to protect your account from unauthorized access and fraudulent activity.

  • Maintaining and improving our budgeting platform
  • Sending account-related communications and updates
  • Providing customer support when you need help
  • Detecting and preventing security issues
  • Analyzing usage patterns to develop new features

We won't sell your personal information to third parties. That's not our business model. We make money from subscriptions, not from your data.

Data Storage and Security

Your data lives on secure servers located in Thailand and Singapore. We use industry-standard encryption both when your data travels across the internet and when it sits in our databases.

Security Measures We Take

Security isn't just about technology. It's also about how we train our team and structure our access controls. Only employees who need access to perform their jobs can view user data, and we track all access carefully.

  • 256-bit SSL encryption for data transmission
  • Encrypted database storage with regular security audits
  • Multi-factor authentication for team access
  • Regular security training for all staff members
  • Automated monitoring for suspicious activity

We conduct quarterly security reviews and respond to vulnerabilities within 48 hours. In case of a data breach, we'll notify affected users within 72 hours as required by Thai data protection regulations.

Your Rights Under Thai Law

Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act gives you specific rights over your information. You're not just handing us your data and hoping for the best. You maintain control.

What You Can Request

Access Your Data: You can request a copy of all personal information we hold about you. We'll provide this within 30 days in a readable format.

Correct Inaccuracies: Found something wrong in your account details? Let us know, and we'll fix it promptly. You can update most information directly in your account settings.

Delete Your Account: Want to leave? You can request full account deletion. We'll remove your personal data within 14 days, though we may keep some information for legal requirements.

Object to Processing: If you disagree with how we're using your data, you can object. We'll review your request and stop processing unless we have compelling legitimate grounds.

Data Portability: Moving to another budgeting platform? You can request your data in a structured format that's easy to transfer elsewhere.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected] with your request. We'll verify your identity and respond within the legal timeframe of 30 days.

Third-Party Services

Running a budgeting platform means working with some external partners. We're careful about who we share data with and why.

Payment Processing

We use established payment processors to handle subscription payments. They receive the minimum information needed to process transactions securely. We don't store full credit card numbers on our servers.

Analytics Services

To understand how people use our platform, we work with analytics providers. They receive anonymized usage data that can't identify individual users. This helps us make better product decisions.

Email Communications

Our email service provider processes your email address and communication preferences to send you account updates and optional newsletters. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails anytime.

  • Payment processors for billing and subscriptions
  • Cloud hosting providers for data storage
  • Email service providers for notifications
  • Analytics tools for usage insights
  • Customer support platforms for help tickets

All our partners sign data processing agreements and meet Thai data protection standards. We audit their security practices regularly.

Data Retention

We don't keep your information forever. Different types of data have different retention periods based on their purpose and legal requirements.

Active Account Data: While you're using our service, we maintain your account information and budget data. This stays accessible as long as your account remains active.

Inactive Accounts: If you stop using our service but don't delete your account, we'll keep your data for 24 months. After that, we'll reach out to confirm whether you want to keep it or have it deleted.

Deleted Accounts: When you request account deletion, we remove personal data within 14 days. Some information might persist in backups for up to 90 days before being fully purged.

Legal Requirements: Thai tax and business regulations require us to keep some financial records for seven years. This applies to transaction records and billing history.

We automatically delete technical logs after 90 days and anonymize usage analytics after 12 months. This means older data can't be traced back to individual users.

Children's Privacy

Our service isn't designed for children under 18. We don't knowingly collect information from minors. If you're a parent and discover your child has created an account, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.

Thai law requires parental consent for processing children's personal data. Since budgeting involves financial information, we restrict our service to adults who can legally enter into contracts.

International Data Transfers

Your data primarily stays within Thailand and Singapore. If we need to transfer information to other countries for specific services, we ensure those locations provide adequate data protection.

Some of our backup systems and support tools operate from servers in other regions. When this happens, we use standard contractual clauses approved under Thai data protection law to maintain security standards.

You have the right to request information about any international transfers affecting your data and the safeguards we've put in place.

Changes to This Policy

Privacy practices evolve. As we add features or respond to new regulations, we'll update this policy. The date at the top shows when we last made changes.

For minor updates, we'll post the revised policy on our website. If we make significant changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll email you at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

We recommend reviewing this policy every few months, especially if you're concerned about privacy. You can always find the current version at rebootnodestation.com/privacy-practices.html

Types of Cookies We Use
